Why On Earth Do I Blog?

Success Begins Today with the question… Why on earth Do You Blog?
Hmmm…. That’s a good question.
Here are the 5 reasons why I blog:
I blog because I have a passion for writing. Seriously… There is nothing I would rather do than stare at a blank screen and fill it with my thoughts. At times it can be frustrating and even downright painful, but yet I still keep coming back to that blank screen, day after day.
The true joy comes from knowing that others are actually benefiting from what you write. The Internet has given all writers the opportunity to send their thoughts to a global audience. For the writer, nothing could possibly be more exciting than that. Step up to the world microphone my friend.
I blog to learn.
I am a voracious reader and I love to learn new things. Teaching others is the best way to learn about any topic, so by writing about personal growth and development, I am growing a bit each day myself as well.
I blog to connect.
To be a blogger is to be part of a community. I have met so many incredible people through blogging.
In fact, just the other day I was emailed by a guy who had found an Ipod on an airplane with my name engraved on the back. Since I have a pretty unique name, he thought he might be able to find the owner, so he googled my name and found my blog.
Well, to make a long story short, the Ipod wasn’t mine but he did really enjoy the blog and is now a regular visitor. Isn’t life funny?
I blog to make a difference.
I think one of the greatest things we can do in this world is to give something back. For me, this blog is one small way that I can do that.
I blog for fun!
In the end, it’s really all about having fun.
Dale Carnegie once said, “People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing.”
Life isn’t about a finish line or even getting the next project done. It’s really about the journey.
Now it’s time to tag five other bloggers…
