Link Roundup

Friday Link Roundup

By Kim Roach · May 25, 2007

It’s time for the weekly link roundup. I think you’re really going to enjoy this week’s links. I have found some incredible sites and articles for you to check out.

The first is…

Ben Casnocha

This week I discovered an incredible blog that I would like to share with you. It can be found at
http://ben.casnocha.com. This blog is run by one of the Web’s greatest thinkers: Ben Casnocha.

For me, this blog is like a glimpse into the mind of it’s author. The author himself, has quite a story. Currently at the ripe old age of 19, he started his first e-government business at the age of 14. He has just released his first book, “My Start-Up Life“, which chronicles his startup story. I plan on devouring this book as soon as possible.

Ben took a “gap year” between high school and college to write his book. During this time he also traveled to nearly twenty countries, spoke at a number of American Universities including Duke University, the University of Arizona, and the Wharton School.

Much like myself, Ben believes strongly in the power of mentors. What I like most about Ben is his incredible drive, passionate curiosity for learning, and his belief in becoming CEO of your own life.

Not to mention, he’s just a very down to earth guy.

Steve Pavlina has written an excellent post this week on “How to Prioritize“. In this article, Steve shows how to prioritize your activities based on resources, criticality, accessibility, return, vulnerability, effect, recognizability.

Leo Babauta has written an excellent productivity this week on DumblittleMan.com called, “Productivity Ninja: 101 Ways to Rock the Keyboard“. This article reveals 101 keyboard shortcuts for Firefox, Gmail, Google Reader, Windows, Mac OS, Excel, Word, Internet Explorer, and Outlook. Take your productivity to the next level with these shortcuts.

RirianProject.com has written an interesting article this week called “33 New Ways to Overclock Your Brain“. Ririan has compiled lots of great tips on how to learn more effectively. Some of my favorites include…

  • Think and learn holistically.
  • Take up a creative hobby.
  • Write to stimulate ideas.
  • Teach others to increase your own understanding.
  • Learn a new language.

I have also written a guest post for ZenHabits.net this week called, “Overclock Your Reading Speed“. This article does a quick outline on the history of speed reading and then dives into some of the most important speed reading tips. Check it out at
