Positive Affirmations to Transform Your Life
It is believed that up to 90% of human behavior is based on habits. This means that 90% of our life is made that way by the habits we have created.
Aristotle once said,
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.”
To change our actions, we must change our habits. And to change our habits, we must change the way we think.
We can do this with the power of affirmations.
Affirmations are positive statements you repeat to yourself to reprogram your subconscious mind for success.
Here are some of the most common affirmations:
“I am going to be who I chose to be.”
“I love and accept myself for who I am.”
“I embrace each moment.”
“I am so happy and thankful now that I am creating the causes of wealth everyday.”
“I am so happy and thankful now that I am creating a more fulfilling and rewarding relationship with my spouse.”
“I am so happy and thankful now that I am learning to love my enemies.”
The repetition of an affirmation can eliminate an old belief and create a new belief to occupy its place. Lifelong habits can be broken and replaced with new ones.
We have the power to change because we have the power to control our dominant thoughts. All behaviors begins as habits of thought.
Unfortunately, most people are thinking the wrong thoughts. They’re thinking about debt and getting more debt. They’re thinking about how bad they feel and their getting more of that feeling.
Have you ever woke up in a mad mood and found that the entire day just spirals. You get caught in traffic. You stub your toe. You hit EVERY single red light.
The problem is that most people are thinking about what they
DON’T want. They focus on the debt. They focus on the struggling marriage. They focus on the problem and NOT the end goal.
The more you think and focus on debt, the more debt you will attract. Set up an automatic debt repayment program and start focusing on wealth and prosperity.
The Law of Attraction says that what you think about, you bring about. Therefore, you become what you think about most. In addition, you also attract what you think about most.
In other words, Thoughts Become Things.
You can master the Law of Attraction and the power that it can hold for your own life throught the use of auto-suggestion, or what is commonly known as affirmations.
To enjoy the effects of affirmations in your life, you must know the right way to do the affirmations. Here are some helpful guidelines:
1. Make Your Affirmations Specific.
For affirmations to be effective, they must be specific. For example, let’s say you want to lose 5 or 10 pounds. A powerful affirmation for you might be:
“Every day I am taking proactive steps towards achieving my desired body weight.”
This affirmation is very specific about what you want to achieve. It also combines the most important ingredient for obtaining any goal: action.
2. State It in the Present Tense
Affirmations are most effective when said in the present tense since they imply an event or task in the present. The present convinces you more than the future tense that is still to take place. Also, use “now” and “today” to make your sentences commanding.
3. Imagine your goal as though you have already obtained it.
Imagine that you are grabbing hold of the wheel of that brand new car. Imagine you are living in the luxury of your new home. Imagine yourself reaching a new level of success in your business.
The key here is to infuse your imagination with emotion. The more energy and emotion you attach, the more powerful attractor energy you attach to it.
Feel those feelings of abundance, wealth, and happiness. You must get in the habit now of creating the exact vision of your goals in your mind and in your feelings. This is one of the keys to attracting your desires.
When you begin focusing all of your attention on your desires and your ultimate goals, you will find that the resources you need to get there will start showing up along your path.
4. Make it personal.
One of the best ways to start an affirmation is to use the phrase “I am” or “I have”. This is because your subconcsious only responds to commands given to it in a personal manner.
Bob Proctor has created an extremely powerful affirmation that goes like this:
“I am so happy and thankful now that I am _______________” (fill in your goal)
5. Repetition Is Important
Repetition is key in affirmations. Read your affirmations at least twice a day and always keep your goals at the focus of your attention. It is a mantra that you will have to keep telling yourself so your subconscious is convinced that you want to change. Research has shown that it takes 30 days to form a habit. This is also true for changing your thoughts as well as your belief systems.
Although these techniques may seem simplistic, don’t let that fool you. Be open and don’t judge it.
Stay dedicated to this process for thirty days and watch what happens.
6. Believe and Persist
Belief in the affirmations is something you will have to develop in time. It may not come right away but believing in your affirmations is a must if you want to improve.
This is also the reason why you have to persist in doing the activity. Have faith in your efforts. You have the power in your hands so just keep doing it until you feel it in yourself.
Unemotional words do not influence the subconscious mind. You will not recieve the results you are looking for until your words have been well emotionalized with BELIEF.
To illustrate this point, we will use the placebo effect as an example. A placebo is a medicine which has no inherent medical benefit. It could be a sugar pill, for example. It is given to the patient and the patient is told that the medicine will aid in the cure of their disease.
Through a number of research studies, the placebo has shown to generate the desired effect of healing the patient. The power here was in the mind of the patient. They BELIEVED
that the placebo would heal them, and therefore it did.
Affirmations can work to your advantage and help you turn into a more improved and productive version of yourself.
What you focus on with thought and feeling is what you attract into your life. If you are a positive, happy person, you will attract positive happy people into your life. If you are a grumpy, stressed out person, you will attract other grumpy, stressed out people.
To attract fulfilling relationships into your life, you must first become the person that your ideal spouse would be attracted to.
This principle also remains true for anything else you want to attract into your life. As you begin to focus on the amount of money you desire, the ideal spouse, or the house of your dreams, you begin attracting the resources you will need to help you reach that point.
