7 Ways to Live a More Exciting Life
Are you living life to the fullest? Do you enjoy the little things in life? Do you take time to watch a sunset? Do you embrace each moment?
This article will teach you to live a more exciting life. Life is a journey that should be lived in full. Here are 7 ways to make your life all that you wish it to be.
Take time to plan your life.
Imagine your life as you wish it to be. Make a list of what you want out of life and start working towards your biggest dreams.
Big, hairy, audacious goals are what make life truly exciting. Without goals, you have nothing to look forward to in life.
Expand your mind with books.
A book can take you to new and exciting worlds, whether it be traveling down the river with Huckleberry Finn or explored the unknown worlds of science fiction. A book is the cheapest vacation you can take.
Books also expand your awareness of the world around you. The best of books will cause you to question your own beliefs and rethink old paradigms.
Not to mention, books will help you to reach almost any goal. You can learn almost anything with the right book. Learn the depths of psychology, the workings of the human brain, or the many principles that have created great business men.
Reading expands your opportunities for success and personal growth. There is no education like self education.
Develop Fulfilling Relationships.
Life is largely defined by the friendships you keep. Take time to build fulfilling relationships. Commit yourself to a weekly girls night out. Make time to visit with your spouse. And always look for new opportunities to develop new friendships.
In our busy, over clocked world it can be very easy to begin focusing completely on all that we have to do in a day. We get so tied up in our schedule, that we rarely take time out to enjoy the people that we cherish in our lives.
It’s up to us to make time for the special people in our lives. Put them at the top of your to do list.
Don’t Be afraid to fail.
Often times, I like to consider all of life just one big experiment. It doesn’t matter whether you succeed or fail. The point is that you tried.
Public education and society have made most people fear failure. However, the most successful people in life are those who have failed the most. Because they weren’t afraid to fail, they tried, tried, tried and eventually succeeded. Everyone else just sits on the sidelines and plays it safe.
Michael Jordan once said:
“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
Let’s step out of our comfort zones and test life out a bit.
As once said by Helen Keller:
“Life is either a daring adventure, or it is nothing.”
Make each day a journey into the unknown and live your dreams.
Turn off the TV.
Why watch other people live their lives when you could be out living your own?
By limiting your TV intake, you will be able to spend more time doing the truly important things in life. Spend quality time with your family. Expand your social life. Start a new hobby.
No TV show can compete with a heart-to-heart talk with a friend, an evening out with the kids, or some quality time with your spouse.
Travel the World.
Life is a journey and no journey can be spent all in one place. Make life more exciting by exploring other parts of the world. You can learn more in a week of traveling than you could ever learn in a week sitting in a classroom. Traveling provides tremendous opportunities for fun, adventure, and discovery.
Traveling also allows you to gain new perspectives as you learn how others live. One of the greatest things we will learn in life is to step outside of ourselves in order to see what it’s like in someone else’s shoes. We become greater than ourselves when we push past our own self-limiting beliefs in order to see why someone else thinks the way they do.
Inspire yourself with a visit to the Colosseum in Rome. Learn to surf on the oceans of Hawaii. Explore the deep blue waters of Jamaica. Immerse yourself in culture by backpacking across Europe. Enrich your life, increase your knowledge, and expand your perspective by traveling the world.
Find What You Love to Do
Many people act as though they have been put on this World to acquire to stuff….to get the car, the lake house, and the boat. However, without fulfilling relationships, worthy dreams, and a grateful heart, you are trading in true happiness and fulfillment for what eventually just becomes a pile of stuff.
What would you do if you had one week left to live? If you are not already doing those things, then you are not truly living a life of happiness and fulfillment.
You make the rules.
Do something that allows you to contribute the very best of yourself.
